Sin embargo, hasta ahora no se hab\u00eda hablado mucho sobre los efectos del ejercicio f\u00edsico sobre el cerebro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y decimos hasta ahora porque un estudio realizado por el Centro Alem\u00e1n de Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas ha investigado por primera vez los <strong>efectos del ejercicio f\u00edsico sobre el cerebro humano<\/strong>, concluyendo que es muy beneficioso para este \u00f3rgano y favoreciendo que algunas zonas del cerebro sean m\u00e1s grandes en aquellas personas que son f\u00edsicamente activas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La actividad f\u00edsica tiene un efecto neuroprotector<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las conclusiones de este estudio es que la actividad f\u00edsica tiene un efecto neuroprotector despu\u00e9s de haberse realizado en 2&nbsp;550 personas en el <strong>Centro Alem\u00e1n de Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas<\/strong>, que posteriormente se ha publicado en la revista Neurology. La conclusi\u00f3n destaca que <strong>algunas partes del cerebro de las personas que practican deporte son m\u00e1s grandes<\/strong> que las de las personas que no lo hacen, protegi\u00e9ndose mejor contra la neurodegeneraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fabienne Fox, la neurocient\u00edfica que es la autora principal del estudio, ha afirmado que \u201ccon nuestros resultados <strong>queremos dar un nuevo impulso para ser m\u00e1s activos f\u00edsicamente<\/strong>, para promover la salud del cerebro y prevenir las enfermedades neurodegenerativas\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los voluntarios que han participado en el estudio ten\u00edan entre 30 y 94 a\u00f1os. De ellos se han obtenido <strong>im\u00e1genes cerebrales<\/strong> a trav\u00e9s de resonancias magn\u00e9ticas para comprobar el volumen cerebral y el grosor de la corteza. En cuanto a la actividad f\u00edsica, los resultados se obtuvieron gracias a un <strong>aceler\u00f3metro que se coloc\u00f3 a los voluntarios en la parte superior del muslo<\/strong> durante un periodo de 7 d\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La actividad f\u00edsica beneficia a las mitocondrias<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfY por qu\u00e9 motivo las personas deportistas tienen un mayor volumen cerebral? Seg\u00fan Fox, <strong>cuanto m\u00e1s alta e intensa es la actividad f\u00edsica, m\u00e1s grandes eran las regiones cerebrales<\/strong>. Los investigadores buscaron en las bases de datos los genes que son especialmente activos en estas zonas del cerebro y resulta que se trata de unos genes esenciales para el funcionamiento de las mitocondrias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las <strong>mitocondrias<\/strong> son org\u00e1nulos citoplasm\u00e1ticos de las c\u00e9lulas eucariotaslas y son las encargadas de proporcionar energ\u00eda al cuerpo, lo que requiere un mayor flujo de sangre, algo que durante la actividad f\u00edsica est\u00e1 garantizado. Seg\u00fan el estudio, esto podr\u00eda explicar por qu\u00e9 las personas que realizan m\u00e1s ejercicio f\u00edsico tienen algunas zonas del cerebro m\u00e1s grandes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin duda, este es un estudio hist\u00f3rico que da muchas pistas sobre c\u00f3mo funciona el cerebro humano en personas que son f\u00edsicamente activas. Sin embargo, los investigadores esperan que <strong>los resultados de su estudio sean solo el principio de futuras investigaciones<\/strong> importantes sobre el cerebro.
